And it often happens around the holidays, when perhaps someone is dealing with loss, a new living situation, change in tradition, or health or personal issues. Each of our properties offers regular daily, weekly, and monthly activities designed to accommodate all abilities across a variety of interests.

This time of year, many of our arts and crafts activities are geared toward projects like creating holiday-themed gifts, decorations, pictures, and trinkets.

Live music, entertainment, and celebrations are also flavored with a holiday twist. We get visits from local groups, who carol through the halls or in our community rooms. The local musicians who perform for residents during the holidays sing all the old—and new—favorites, often encouraging residents to sing along. And don’t forget our holiday parties and happy hours. Many of our communities promote door decorating and will even have contests, with a holiday-themed prize. On that note, we decorate each community with all things twinkly and pretty. From lights and garlands to ornaments and candy canes on a big ’ol tree in the foyer, there’s no question that the holiday season has arrived at each of our Southview locations. Residents can watch the process unfold and sometimes even help along the way, especially with tree decorating! But the best part is, everyone gets to enjoy the decorations throughout the season, which lends a warm, comforting, and homey feel that’s bursting with tradition. And it’s all designed to get our communities and residents ready to celebrate the holidays together.
